Fans across India and abroad give cricketing genius a befitting farewell as he hangs up his boots.

It is final: the era of Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is over. The little maestro walked off the cricketing field for one last time on Thursday, helping India to crush the West Indies in Mumbai. Cricketing fans turned out in great numbers to bid the master batsman a befitting farewell.

Tendulkar mania swept India as he played his last Test match with fans paying tribute to him in street corners across cities.
Millions mourned Tendulkar(***)s retirement. But amid the overwhelming sadness was the collective realisation that the maestro now deserved a well-deserved break from competitive cricket. 
Though Tendulkar will no more take the guard at the crease and bat, his towering accomplishments will continue to inspire future cricketers.
