At the Malnutrition Ward inside al-Sabeen Hospital in Sanaa, parents anxiously accompany their children, a mere handful of an estimated one million children under the age of five suffering from malnutrition in Yemen.

Meanwhile, doctors and caregivers on the ground wonder aloud why funds raised by non-governmental organisations have not trickled down to those who are most in need.

Attending Dr Obei said, “This ward needs a lot of funding, but at the same time there must be supervision of funding efforts – even for international agencies and organisations.”
