Tasmiha Khan

Tasmiha is based in Chicago and writes on US Muslim communities, faith, and religion, with a broader focus on health equity and the intersection of culture and public health along with caregiving. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, TIME, The Washington Post, National Geographic, Vox, WBEZ Chicago and Prism, among other national outlets. Tasmiha works with impact-driven organisations. She also has a children's book forthcoming in 2027. She is a 2026 Medill recipient and won the 2025 Peter Lisagor Award for best in education reporting. She has held fellowships with the Knight Science Journalism program at MIT, the USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism, and the Reynolds Journalism Institute, and is currently a Nova Media Fellow. Her earlier honours include the Pulitzer Center's Richard C. Longworth Media Fellowship, the Interfaith America Emerging Leaders Award, and recognition from the White House under the Obama administration.
